This technique is often used for treatment of severe varicose veins. Dr. Foghi inserts a very small tube or catheter into the vein. A small probe is then inserted through the catheter. The tip of the probe heats up and seals the vein. Local anesthesia is used for the procedure. You may experience slight bruising after the procedure. The varicose vein shrinks over time, and symptoms are alleviated.
This procedure is quick and relatively painless, and gives excellent results. You may experience some discomfort when the local anesthetic wears off, but as the vein shrivels over the course of a few weeks, the pain, swelling and discomfort you experienced prior to treatment will continue to diminish.
Our staff at Myo CosMedic Institue in Rio Rancho, New Mexico is skilled and experienced at providing this type of treatment and thousands of patients have benefitted. If you have an underlying condition, your procedure can be classified as medically necessary and covered under your medical insurance policy.
